Abstract:	In curriculum of English language teaching, there are four skills that should be mastered. It embraces skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing. Reading is one of the skills that are very important to be learned because it increases human knowledge. According to Miceleckly (2008), reading helps the students to improve their general language skills like speaking, listening, writing because it forces them to think in Engllish, to build their vocabulary, to improve writing skills and to help them to find out new ideas, fact and experiences. The aims of this study is to investigate whether or not use the cartoon films can improve students' reading ability. Based on the results it shows that experimental group is higher than control group. So, the media of cartoon films are effective in improving narrative reading skill. Beside that the writer concluded that the most of students also showed positive responses towards the use of cartoon film as the media in teaching narrative reading. Becase the students enjoyed the classroom activities and cartoon films also helped them to understand the texts easier.
