PENGGUNAAN MODEL DISCOVERY LEARNING UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN BERHITUNG MATEMATIS SISWA KELAS III SEKOLAH DASAR

This research is entitled "Using the Discovery Learning Learning Model to Improve the Mathematical Calculation Ability of Class III Elementary School Students." The formulation of the problem in this research is: 1) Is there an increase in the mathematical calculation ability of class III students after carrying out learning using the discovery learning model? 2) What obstacles do third grade elementary school students face in learning using the discovery learning model? 3) What obstacles do teachers face in carrying out learning using the discovery learning model, based on the problem formulation, this research aims to describe the 4 problem formulations. The research method used in this research is a mixed method. The instruments used in this research are in the form of fill-in tests, questionnaires, observation sheets and interviews. From the results obtained using the student discovery learning model, it can be seen from the average pretest score of 46.25 while the posttest score is 79.25. As for the obstacles experienced by students in implementing the discovery learning model, students have difficulty in the final syntax of the learning model, namely the stage of drawing conclusions. Then the obstacles faced by teachers in implementing this learning model require more time to help students think critically about the problems that have been presented. Based on the results and discussion in this research, it can be concluded that there is an increase in students' mathematical calculation skills using the discovery learning model.
