Abstract:	The english teaching and learning has a goal to develop communicative competence both oral and written. But in fact, students' speaking ability is below expectations. Therefore the teacher should use appropriate techniques that can encourage students to be active and creative in teaching learning process using think pair share. The research result that post test has higher result than pre test. In other words the teaching speaking using think pair share significantly improves students' speaking ability.
