| Abstract: | Reading is simple task for some of us. But, in fact many student judge that an English text is very hard to understand. Consequently they fail to try comprehending a written text and finally they treat reading as the most avoidable activity. In Indonesian, teaching reading is still dominated by the teacher centered. The stduents felt bored and their just read without they understand what they read. As result, the students' reading comprehension is lowest. Therefore in teaching reading, prediction strategy is a good technique regarded helpful in improving students reading comprehension. The objective of this study is to find out the use prediction strategy in improving students' reading comprehension. This research used quantitative research method. The collected data were analyzed using the T test formula. The research result showed that the prediction strategy technique has significant impact on students' reading comprehension. The teacher should consider prediction strategy as the alternative technique for teaching reading. |
