PENGGUNAAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN PICTURE AND PICTURE UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN MEMBACA PERMULAAN SISWA KELAS I SD
ABSTRACT
This study aims to improve the beginning reading skills of 1st graders of Pelita Fajar
Elementary School by using the picture and picture learning model.The subjects in
this study wew 15 grade 1st graders of Pelita Fajar Elementary School.This study
used Mix Metdhods with a Sequential Explanatory design.Data sources
Quantitative, Data obtained and qualitative data.Quantitative data collection
techniques were carried out using the pretest – posttest, while qualitative data were
obtained using student response questionnaires and observation sheets.Prior to
using the picture and picture learning model, the average student score (pretest)
was 65,4, Furthermore, the results of the average test score (post test)for students
initial reading ability in the reading test using picture and picture model is 75,8
.Based on the results of the N-gain test, a score of g is 0,28 in the medium
category,judging from the percentage of effectiveness of N-gain, a score is obtained
28,40% with no siran is quite effective Based on result of the study it can be
conclude that the use of picture ang picture learning model improves the beginning
reading ability of grade 1 students at SD Pelita Fajar is quite effective to use.
