| Abstract: | The Indonesian government has chosen English as the first foreign language to be taught at schools. In the junior high school especially at seven grade junior high school, they do not have enough motivation in learning English. In building students' motivation teachers should use appropriate technique or media to support their motivation. One of the techniques that the teacher can use is songs. The purpose of this study is to know the use of English song can build students' motivation in learning English. The approach of this research is qualitative and the design is descriptive qualitative. The instruments used to obtain the data were3 observation, questionnaire and interview to know students' motivation in learning English. The result from questionnaire that students motivation average score is attention, relevance, confidence and satisfaction. Their highest motivation of students is their confidence level. They assumed that English was very beneficial for their future, From the observation and interview, they enjoy and enthusiasm with learning English using song. They believe if they interest and focus in learning they will easy to learn. The conclusion of the study, students lowest motivation in attention level with teaching learning usually used. Therefore students enjoy and interested with teaching learning using song. |
