| Abstract: | The aims of this research are to ; (1) describe the scenario and the implementation of teaching writing procedure text through Cooking Academy Game by using scientific approach in one of private senior high schools in Bandung, (2) describe the teacher and students responses toward teaching writing procedure text through Cooking Academy Game by using scientific approach in one of private senior high schools in Bandung, (3) obtain the information about the students difficulties in teaching writing procedure text through cooking academy game by using scientific approach in one of private senior high schools in Bandung. The method of the research is Pre-Experimental Design method using One-Group Pretest-Posttest research design. The techniques of Data Collection are literature study, observation, test, interview and questionnaire. Researcher (1) explains about Cooking Academy 3 game as the media; (2) asks students to play for 6 minutes using Cooking Academy 3 game, and (3) assists and guides the students how to use Cooking Academy 3 game in procedural writing skill lessons. Based on the data analysis test, there is an increase in students writing skill of procedural text before and after using the Cooking Academy 3 game as the media. Based on the interview the students were very interested with this game it can be seen by the answer of students. Cooking Academy game 3 was very interesting, it was not only good and helful game, but also easy to applicate in teaching writing procedural text and very useful by obtaining a lot of vocabulary with a real and a lot picture and also the student’s ideas improved. Refers to the results of the questionnaire analysis we know the difficulties in teaching writing procedure text through Cooking Academy 3 game are needed a long preparation time, only focus on one person only, it requires a long preparation time and Cooking Academy just could be play in a time limit and could not be play in handphone. |
