Abstrak

Speaking is one of the most important skills for students to be mastered and this
research deals with teaching speaking using round robin technique. Round robin
technique is a simple technique which could make students more interactive in the
class. From that reason, the researcher decided to conduct a research entitle teaching
speaking using round robin technique with the objective of this research is to find out
whether round robin technique can improve students speaking skill or not. This
research used quantitative method with pre experimental research design. The sample
of the research was 30 students from one experimental class, and to analyze the data
this research used spss 25. The result of the data showed that the mean of the
students’ pretest score was 38.03 and the mean of the students’ posttest score was
74.40. It means that there was a significant different before and after receiving the
treatments. Then from another test using Wilcoxon test, it showed that the score of
Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) was 0.000. It is less than 0.005 which means that the null
hypothesis was rejected. Thus, it can be concluded that round robin technique
improved students speaking skill.
