Abstract:	The objectives of this research were to find out (1) the errors of writing narrative text made by the students (2) to find out the causes error made by the students. The writer used descriptive qualitative research method. The subjects of this research were 40 students. To collect the data, the writer used writing narrative text test. The collected data was identified, classified and analyzed and interpreted based on the types of error in using the generic structure. The errors were 17,5% complication, 2,5% in resolution. The writer find out the cause of error, the student were lack of narrative text knowledge, lack of tenses, vocabulary knowledge and the teacher does not explain what narrative text clearly.
