| Abstract: | One of the major ability in reading skills is comprehension. By comprehending the texts they read, students are able to cover some skills needed in reading such as recognizing main ideas, recognizing stated details, guessing the meaning of unfamiliar words and producing new ideas. The main objective of this study is to reveal the impact of vocabulary instruction towards students' comprehension skills. The study show that the the vocabulary instruction has significant impact on students' comprehension skills. Teachers should consider vocabulary instruction as an alternative technique for teaching reading. |
