Abstract:	The objective of this research is to find out the effectiveness of using grammar translation method in improving students' reading comprehension ability. The research method was quantitative method. Based on the data analysis above, the alternative hypothesis of this research was accepted. It could also be concluded that teaching reading using grammar translation method was effective to improve the students' reading comprehension ability.
