Abstract:	Teaching a language is a complicated process which requires considering and appliying a method while performing it and is conducted through a method in language class. The objective of this study is to find out whether or not using communicative language teaching (CLT) method was effective to improve students' speaking ability. This study used quantitative method. Based on the result showed that teaching speaking using communicative language teaching (CLT) method was effective to improve students' speaking ability.
