| Abstract: | abstct mastering vocabulary is very important because the interaction in communication will not run smoothly if the speaker does not master the vocabulary. visual media or picture is one of media that can help teacher to deliver material to students. the objektive of the reasearch entitled "improving student vocabulary mastery using visual media picture" was to determine whether or not visual media picture could improve students vocabulary mastery. this reasearch used quantitative method with quasi experimental design. the instrument of the reasearch was pretest and postest. the population of the reasearch was the fifth grade students of SDN Jaya Giri and the sample was 60 students, 30 students as experimental group and 30 students as control group. the data were analyzed by using T-test. the result of the reasearch showed that the mean score of experimental class was 76 and the mean score of control class was 71,16, and the sig (2 -tailed) was 0.000. the significance score was lower than 0.05. it means the visual media picture could improve students vocabulary mastery. |
