Counter-terrorism in the Literary Works Perspective
Abstract. The main problem of this study is a counter-terrorism in the perspective of literary works, seen through the novel
Demi Allah Aku Jadi Teroris (For Allah I Become a Terrorist) (DAAJT) by Damien Dematra. The problems are (1) the issue of
terrorism in the DAAJT novel (2) the relation of the issue of terrorism to the lives of Indonesian people (3) counter terrorism in
the perspective of literature. Such problems were analyzed by a sociological theory of literature and supported by a
narcissistic psychological theory. The purpose of the study theoretically answers three problems, and practically gives an
understanding to the reader that literary works can be used to counter terrorism and produce a scientific study that can be
used by future researchers. The method used in this study is namely the method of sociology of literature, a literary sociology
Alan Swingewood. The workings of this method are to discuss first the problems that exist in literature, then connect them to
problems outside of the literary works. The results of the study are as follows, first, there are four issues of terrorism in the
DAAJT novel. Second, four terrorist issues in the DAAJT novel have relations with the lives of Indonesian people. Third, there
are six alternative counter terrorisms in literary works.
