| Abstract: | Writing is one of the ways to communicate but many students of senior high school feel hard to write, especially in writing recount text and they often make errors in writing. Most of students do not apply the rule in writing. If students are asked to write in English, they cannot avoid errors. The objectives of this research errors that students make most frequently and the reason why they make errors. In this research, the writer uses qualitative research design, or more specifically of this research are 16 students. To obtain the data, the writer uses two steps, giving students test to make recount text based on their own holiday experience Numbers of errors which is made by students is 194 errors and the percentage of errors in writing recount text is divided into four categories of errors, those are: misformation (70.62%), omission (15.46%), addition (12.27%) and misordering (1.55%). Baed on the data above, the most frequent errors is misformation and the least is misordering. It happens because students do not apply the rule in writing or we can say that they do not mastery grammar. |
