Abstract: Speaking is one of the four language skills, they are: speaking, listening, reading and writing. The problems are students have difficulties to speak English, most of them are too shy and afraid of being wrong in pronunciation. The teachers are demanded to have teaching method in order to solve the problem faced by students in learning English. The main objective of this research entitled “Teaching Speaking Using Guessing Game At First Grade of MTs At-Turmuzi Kutawaringin Soreang”. Was to find out whether or not guessing game technique is effective to improve students speaking ability. In this research, the writer used quasi-experimental design and quantitative method. This research used speaking test as instruments. The population of this research was 50 at the first grade of MTs At-Turmuzi Kutawaringin Soreang in academic 2015/2016 and the samples were 50 devided into two group (25 experimental groups and 25 control groups). The process of scoring data was analyzed by using SPSS version 21. The result of data analysis showed that the significance value of Mann Whitney U-Test with Sig (2 tailed test) was 0.007 was smaller than 0.05, It could be concluded that the different between experimental group and control group was significantly different. Based on the data analysis the alternative hypotheses of this research (Ha) was accepted, and teaching speaking using guessing game technique was effective to improve the students speaking ability
